FBLA Food Drive 08-09

by Beth Manzer

he local chapter of the FBLA performed a community service by trick or treating for the Community Food Pantry. Many members helped with this activity on a day off from school. The town was divided into different sections, and the members canvassed a section. Students asked for items like: soup, crackers, pasta, boxed potatoes, canned beans (navy, chili) and canned meats. They also took donations of hand soap, toilet paper, kleenexes, and items like that. All in all, 12 boxes of supplies were collected for the Food Pantry that is maintained at the United Methodist Church in Osmond. One of the organizers from FBLA stated that it was a great project, because the shelves of the Food Pantry were empty!!
