New Reading Program--Treasures

This year the K-6 students will be working with a new reading series called Treasures written by the Macmillan-McGraw/Hill Co. The program encompasses the five key components important in the teaching of reading skills-- phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The students will need their parents' encouragement and support, because reading is a difficult skill to master. The teachers have taken workshops to help them prepare for this exciting program that will teach children to read accurately and effectively.
