Tiger volleyball fights tough battle in Bloomfield
BLOOMFIELD—The Osmond Tigers fell to the Bloomfield Lady Bees 25-16, 25-8, 25-13 on Tuesday night in Lewis and Clark Conference volleyball action in Bloomfield.
Sophomore Hannah Gutz led the team with five kills. She was followed by Erica Slage (Jr.) and Sam Johnson (Sr.) who each had four kills. Maggie Kruse (Sr.) also had three kills.
Hailey Johnson (So.) had a nice match serving. She had two ace serves. Together the Lady Tigers had five aces. Caitlynn Kumm (Fr.) had an ace.
“We saw tremendous improvement with our serving and our serve-receive percentages,” Coach Jennifer Johnson said.
Several Tigers worked hard to get to each serve. Cierra Pfansteil (Jr.) had 23 receives while Kumm had 19 and Breanna Bolz (So.) had seven.
“Overall, the girls have been working hard and keeping a positive attitude,” Johnson added.
The Tigers will play Thursday, September 11 in a triangular hosted by Randolph. They will face the Randolph Cardinals and the Emerson-Hubbard Lady Tigers.
