Tigers play two in Pierce Co. Tourney
The Osmond Lady Tigers hosted the Pierce County Tournament on Thursday, October 16 in Osmond at the OCS gym. The Tigers fell to eventual champion Pierce 9-25, 16-25 and then to Plainview 22-25, 19-25.
In the Pierce contest, the Tigers had four girls with two kills. This included the Tigers two seniors: Sam Johnson and Maggie Kruse. Hailey Johnson and Caitlin Kumm also had two kills each.
Kumm also had two ace serves while junior Erica Slagle had one of her own.
After the Pierce contest, the Tigers were matched up with Plainview.
The Tigers had seven kills out of Sam Johnson and three a piece from Slagle and Hailey Johnson.
Hailey Johnson also did well with solo blocks. She had six of them.
Kumm led the team with seven set assists, while Slagle added six of her own.
Maggie Kruse had two kills and Hannah Gutz added another.
There were many Tiger defenders who registered digs. These included Sam Johnson (8), Kumm (6), junior Cierra Pfanstiel (6), and sophomore Breanna Bolz (5).
The Lady Tigers (3-15) will now look forward to their battle with Wynot on Tuesday, October 21 in Wynot.
