2010 Business Competition Day

March 25, 2010

    The annual Wayne State Business Competition Day was held on Wednesday, March 25th.  Eight students from Osmond attended the competition; they were:  Adam Miller, Jacob Krienert, Craig Gutz, Andrew Stech, Amanda Lorenz, Adrian Kumm, Danielle Vinson, and Sydney Brummels.
    Competition began at 9:00 a.m. and continued through the morning and early afternoon, with the college bowl finals taking place at l:30 p.m.  Events that Osmond students participated in included:  Accounting I, Accounting II, Business Communications, Business Comprehensive Knowledge, Marketing, Business Beyond Borders, Filing/Records Management, and Business Law.  According to event coordinator, Dr. Patricia Arneson, this event is the largest academic competition held on the Wayne State College Campus.
Presentation of awards followed the college bowl.  During the Awards Presentation, Andrew Stech received a 5th place in Business Law and Business Comprehensive Knowledge; Adam Miller received a 4th place ribbon in Accounting II; Danielle Vinson earned a 4th place for her Sales Presentation; Sydney Brummels received a 2nd place ribbon in Business Communications; Andrew Stech earned a 2nd place in Marketing; and 1st Place ribbons were awarded to Craig Gutz in Accounting I and Adam Miller in Business Beyond Borders.
    There were 24 schools in attendance; Osmond’s ranking was outstanding with a 3rd place team total and winning a trophy.
