The Osmond Girls basketball team won the Wausa tournament with a 53 to 34 wins over Ewing. The Tigers got off to a strong start scoring 18 points to the Ewing Tigers 9. Osmond did a nice job of scoring in transition. They outscored their opponents 15 to 6 in the second quarter for a half time score of 33 to 15.
The second half was played even for the final score of 53 – 34.
“We ran the floor well in this game scoring before Ewing could set their defense” Coach Joe Ortmeier said. “Carissa grabbing 17 rebounds is impressive as is Laurel passing off 10 assists.”
Carissa Gutz led all scorers with 20 points followed by Brianna Kumm’s 17. Riley Funk led the Ewing Tigers with 15 points.
