Tigers face Bears in L&C Tourney Quarterfinals
The Tigers began their conference tournament on Monday with a 68-29 victory at home against the Allen Eagles. It was another solid team victory for us this season. 10 of our 13 players scored and many others gave us positive contributions in other areas of the game. Cole Moes, Caleb Krohn, Brock Johnson, and Tucker Timmerman all finished in double digits.

Friday night Osmond lost to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in the quarter final of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament, getting them to 12-5 on the season. “I thought we played really well in the first half, especially the first quarter. We were breaking their press and as a result, converted several high percentage shots,” said Coach Schulze. Throughout the game I wasn’t pleased with how often we allowed LCC to get offensive rebounds. They finished the game scoring 15 points off of 12 offensive rebounds. That effort against quality opponents won’t cut it. Cole Moes and Brock Johnson both finished in double figures, with Cole also grabbing 7 rebounds. Our bench gave us solid contributions throughout the game. Alex Kumm finished with 10 points and 4 assists, while Dylan Wieneke played a physical style of basketball, scoring 14 points and pulling down 7 rebounds. In my opinion LCC is the best team we have played this season, certainly the most talented. I think our boys would agree to that. However, when you know you’re going up against a really good team, anything but your best effort and best attitude won’t earn you a victory. Those are two areas we will look to improve over the next couple weeks as we prepare for sub-districts. Competing with a burning desire to win and doing so with a love for your teammates is what allows teams a chance to move on during the post-season. It’s up to us to recognize the importance of both and strive for excellence in those areas.
