Cats pounce on Tigers
The Osmond Tigers were defeated at home by the Hartington Lady Wildcats in Lewis and Clark Conference volleyball action on Thursday, September 22.
The Lady Tigers lost in three sets 21-25, 18-25, 9-25.
The Wildcats and Tigers played evenly through much of the first two sets, but Hartington prevailed in each. Then, in the third set, the Wildcats built a large advantage through to secure the win.
In the match, the Tigers accumulated 12 kills and six aces. Hannah Gutz (Sr., OH) and Emily Bolz (Jr., OH) each had three kills.
Hailey Johnson (Sr., MH) and Andrea Schmit (Jr., OH) each had two kills. Caitlin Kumm (Jr., S) and Makenzie Johnson (Sr., MH) both added a kill.
Haven Schultze (So.) had a team high three service aces. Bolz added two and Kumm also had an ace.
Gutz, Hailey Johnson, and Makenzie Johnson each had a solo block.
The Tigers (2-8) will now travel to Elgin where Elgin Public/Pope John will host a triangular on Tuesday, September 27.
