Tigers face tough competition in EP/PJ Triangular
ELGIN—The Osmond Tigers ran into a pair of solid teams on Tuesday, September 27 as they competed in the Elgin Public/Pope John (EP/PJ) volleyball triangular.
The Tigers played host EP/PJ in the first match and fell 11-25, 10-25. Then they faced Central Valley and were defeated 13-25, 20-25.
During the EP/PJ meet, the Tigers had 10 kills, three aces, and two solo blocks.
Hannah Gutz (Sr., MH) had four kills and a solo block. Caitlin Kumm had two ace serves and a kill.
Hailey Johnson had two kills. Andrea Schmit (Jr., OH), Shelby Stelling (Jr.), and Emily Bolz (Jr.) all had a kill a piece.
In the Central Valley match, the Tigers had seven kills and four aces.
Haven Schultze (So.) had two of the aces. Makenzie Johnson and Caitlin Kumm each added an ace.
Kumm and Schmit each had two kills. Schmit also had the team’s lone solo block.
Gutz, Hailey Johnson, and Bolz each added a kill.
The Tigers now will go to Wakefield Thursday, September 29 to square off against the Lady Trojans.
