Tigers square-off against Pierce, Randolph in Pierce Co. Tourney
PIERCE-- The Osmond Lady Tigers travelled to Pierce for the Pierce County Tournament on Thursday, October 12.
In the first game of the night, the Lady Tigers faced the Pierce Lady Jays. The Lady Jays won the match 9-25 and 16-25.
Throughout the game, the Lady Tigers made few mistakes, but the Lady Jay's tough hitters helped them to pull ahead and win.
Senior Caitlin Kumm had the most kills with three. Sophomore Kennedy Johnson had two.
Haven Schultze (Jr.) had five set assists. Caitlin Kumm was right behind her with four.
Senior Shelby Stelling had five digs, and Junior Mariah Stech had three.
In the last game of the night, the Lady Tigers took on the Randolph Lady Cardinals. The Lady Cardinals won the match 25-20 and 25-20.
Recovering from the first match proved to be a challenge for the Lady Tigers. They made a few errors which brought their intensity down; however, the Tigers had many good passes all around.
Senior Andrea Schmit had the most kills of the night with five in total. Junior Makenzie Johnson was close behind her with four.
Haven Schultze had nine set assists and Caitlin Kumm (Sr.) had eight.
Caitlin Kumm had two ace serves. Haven Schultze had one.
Junior Mariah Stech had a great game with seventeen digs in all. Caitlin Kumm had five.
"This was a tough tournament for us but it was a good opportunity to step back and evaluate what we need to work on," Coach Johnson stated.
The updated record for the Lady Tigers is now 6-12.
