Tigers earn post-season football awards
Tiger football players honored with post-season accolades
The Osmond Tigers football team earned several post-season accolades.
This starts with the two individuals who earned NCPA Academic All-State. These included senior Nick Reikofski and sophomore Connor Gutz.
“The awesome part of this award was that was a really difficult choice,” Tigers Coach Scott Morrison said. “This speaks to the character of the guys we had on our team.”
Other possibilities for the award were Josh Gansebom (Jr.), Alexis Solorzano (Jr.), Landon Stelling (Jr.), and Zach Huwaldt (So.).
Anthony Heiman (Sr.) earned All-State Class D-2 according to Bobby Mills’ list (The Nebraska 1,000 yd Guy). Heiman earned his way onto the 1,000 yard list as well.
Heiman also received All-Area 3rd Team for the Norfolk Daily News.
The Tigers also had four players earn Honorable Mention All-State for the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World Herald. This included Heiman, Reikofski, Justus Maertins (Jr.), and Solorzano.
Seven Tigers also received All-District recognition. This included Heiman (1st Team), Reikofski (1st Team), Maertins (1st Team), Solorzano (1st Team), Gansebom (2nd Team), Stelling (2nd Team), and Huwaldt (2nd).
“We are proud to have these individuals represent our school and our team,” Morrison said. “These guys show that hard work pays off, so it’s fun to about the bright future that each of them has in store.”
