K - 12 Guidance Counselor and CTE Coordinator
Education: I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Wayne State College in 1987. I completed a master’s degree in elementary administration in 1999. In May of 2017 I completed a master’s degree in K-12 school counseling from WSC.
Educational Experience: This is my 30th year in education. My career began in Clearwater, Nebraska where I taught 6th grade for several years. While at Clearwater I also coached volleyball and some girls’ basketball. I spent a few years teaching Title I with my last year as elementary principal at both Clearwater and Orchard Public Schools. Next, I spent four years at David City Public School as a fifth grade teacher and assistant volleyball coach. I was the elementary principal at Osmond for eight years, with three of those years being elementary principal at Randolph Public School as well. This is my fifth year as K-12 school counselor at Osmond.
Family: I have been married to my husband, Rod, for 27 years. Our son, Seth, lives with his family in Sioux Falls. Our second son, Josh, lives with his family in Osmond. Our daughter, Sydney, is an accountant in Lincoln. And our youngest daughter, Morgan, is in graduate school at UNMC in Omaha. We have nine grandchildren.
Hobbies: I enjoy any time I can spend with my husband and our family, especially shopping with my daughters. I love all sports, and I enjoy reading and watching movies.
