FBLA Awards Ceremony
“Simply the Best”
The Osmond Future Business Leaders of America held their annual Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 7th. The program was held in the Multi-Purpose Room. A multi-media presentation honoring the FBLA members provided the past year’s history in review at the beginning of the evening.
Melissa Timmerman, Vice-President of the F.B.L.A. gave the welcome for the evening. Adrian Kumm, Secretary provided the Invocation before a buffet dinner was served. The candle light installation of officers for the 2010-11 school year was then held. The following students will be the officer team, next year: Sydney Brummels, Stephanie Schumacher, Emily Brummels, Leah Gubbels, Laurel Krohn, Nick Penlerick and Emily Kahny.
Certificates of Participation were awarded to the members of the organization by Stephanie Schumacher, Treasurer and Emily Kahny, Historian. Senior members were presented with gifts of an F.B.L.A. lapel pin. Senior members were: Dillon Bruckner, Craig Gutz, Emily Haselhorst, Kim Huwaldt, Bryce Johnson, Chris Krienert, Adrian Kumm, Amanda Lorenz, Adam Miller, Carly Schmit, Faith Schultze, Melissa Timmerman, and Danielle Vinson. Craig Gutz and Adam Miller, past co-Presidents of the F.B.L.A. gave the Senior Address for 2009-2010. They thanked the membership for their help in making the year a successful one and challenged the new officer team to work together. Senior members presented Mrs. Manzer with a gift in appreciation for her support during the year.
Mr. Darin Hahne, Principal of Osmond Community Schools provided the Keynote Address. He spoke about how students should be Simply the Best. He explained how they each had a responsibility to meet challenges in their lives.
Mrs. Manzer presented Craig Gutz and Adrian Kumm with the FBLA Scholarships given annually by the F.B.L.A. Outstanding Member Awards were given to Senior-Carly Schmit; Junior-Sydney Brummels; Sophomore-Leah Gubbels and Freshman-Laurel Krohn for their work during the year. Certificates were also given to all State Leadership Participants for their placements. Adam Miller and Craig Gutz were awarded first place certificates for the Nebraska Virtual Business Challenge. Mrs. Manzer's presentation addressed the audience with the thought of Members being able to put FBLA as the big rocks in their jars of life! This includes realizing that every member has something to contribute to the organization; no matter how busy that person might be.
