2012 FBLA--Mercy Meals Project
The November monthly activity of the FBLA was to travel to Mercy Meals of Nebraska. Eleven students, Sandy Brummels, and Mrs. Manzer helped this non-profit organization that allows volunteers to package nourishing food for children in need throughout the world. Orphanages, refugee camps, feeding centers, disaster relief centers and local food pantries have been recent recipients of their food. One child dies of starvation every 5 seconds worldwide. Of the bags of food that the FBLA prepared, each one serves 6 people , 1 box feeds 300 people, 1 pallet feeds 7200 people. The 3000 meals that the FBLA packaged went to Africa or Haiti.
