2012 FBLA--Hot Shot Business Project
The FBLA and Computer Apps. class combined efforts to teach “Hot Shot Business” to the 6th graders. This approach shows young adults what it means to be an entrepreneur. Through carefully constructed scenarios, students gain experience with the design and operations of owning a business—a skateboard factory, a comic book shop, a pet spa, a landscaping service, and a candy factory.
The 6th graders learned—
1. That they can sell any type of products.
2. They also learned that if they lower prices, it will attract more customers to their business.
3. Competition is tough in the business world.
4. Be careful with money.
When the simulation was completed, it was hoped that each student had become aware of the skills, self-confidence, and abilities necessary to become an entrepreneur.
