FBLA Awards Ceremony
The Osmond Future Business Leaders of America held their annual Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 5th. The program was held in the Multi-Purpose Room.
Erica Slagle, Vice-President of the F.B.L.A. gave the welcome for the evening. Kendyl Koehler, News Reporter introduced the keynote speaker for the evening, Mr. Aaron Gutz. Mr. Gutz is the Branch President for Security Bank in Osmond. He spoke to the members and guests in attendance about healthy habits they should establish, developing their skills for the future and Stepping Up To the Challenges of life.
Samantha Aschoff, Secretary spoke about “This was FBLA 2014-2015”. She highlighted the Chapter’s activities throughout the year.
Certificates of Participation were awarded to the members of the organization by Bryan Manzer, Parliamentarian and Tyler von Rentzell, Treasurer. Senior members were presented with gifts of an F.B.L.A. lapel pin. Senior members were: Mariah Gubbels, Seth Gutz, Vincent Heldoorn, Samantha Johnson, Noah Koehler, Cameron Moes, Dominic Schmit, Michael Simmons, Rayann Wales and Vicky Winninger. Junior members receiving certificates were: Samantha Aschoff, Karli Ferry, Caleb Krohn, Erica Slagle; Sophomore members were: Blake Aschoff, Shelby Aschoff, Breanna Bolz, Bailee Gillespie, Paul Gubbels, Hannah Gutz, Preston Koehler, Kendyl Koehler, Diane Kruse, Bryan Manzer, Cole Moes, Tyler Reikofski, Tyler von Rentzell; Freshmen members were: Alex Alderson, Colton Beacom, Emily Bolz, Makayla Boyle, Marina De La Cruz, Drew Krienert, Caitlin Kumm, Alex Palu, Andrea Schmit, Kelly Schuettler, Shelby Stelling, Shaylee Vargas and Dylan Wieneke.
Mrs. Manzer's presentation addressed the audience with the thought of FBLA members Stepping Up To The Challenge of FBLA. Comparing the preparing of a cake to the preparation FBLA members need to make to have a strong organization was the theme of her address. FBLA members need to try new things; and Step Up To The Challenge. She also thanked the 2014-2015 officer team and congratulated and challenged the 2015-16 officer team to motivate members and improve the chapter’s performance!
Mrs. Manzer presented the Outstanding Member Awards to Senior-Rayann Wales; Juniors-Caleb Krohn and Erica Slagle; Sophomore-Bryan Manzer and Freshman-Andrea Schmit for their work during the year. State Leadership Participants were also honored for their work and received certificates from Mrs. Manzer.
The candle-light installation of officers for the 2015-16 school year was then held. The following students will be the officer team, next year: Caleb Krohn, President; Samantha Aschoff, Vice President; Kendyl Koehler, Secretary; Bryan Manzer, Treasurer; Andrea Schmit, Historian; Diane Kruse, News Reporter and Tyler von Rentzell, Parliamentarian.
Caleb Krohn closed the evening with a presentation outlining his goals for next year. He then thanked everyone for coming. A dessert bar was served to the guests in attendance.
