Tigers glow on homecoming

Homecoming is always one of the most fun weeks of the school year, but this year had a certain glow to it.

Of course, there were several festivities that made the week enjoyable for all; the most intriguing, though, was the crowning of the 2017 Homecoming King and Queen.

Ethan Pfanstiel, son of Greg and Bev Pfanstiel, was named King. Shelby Stelling, daughter of Ross and Miriam Stelling, was named Queen.

Finalizing Homecoming was the dance, chaperoned by OCS Principal Kurt Polt and Sophomore Class Sponsors Mr. Larry McKenna and Mr. Eli Neitzel.

The dance was preceeded by the football game where the Tigers took on the Stuart Broncos.

Leading up to this point, the festivities started with Food Day. Students used roughly two hours in the afternoon to decorate in the gym and in the hallways for the dance.

Tuesday was Mathletes Versus Athletes Day where students dressed up as either athletes or extraordinarily diligent students.

“Murica” Day was Wednesday, and Thursday was Celebrity Day.

Students dressed up in orange and black on Friday. There was a pep rally down town in the afternoon.

The band marched and there were several activities and skits that took place.
