Tigers take over in Wausa
WAUSA—The Osmond Lady Tigers took on the Wausa Lady Vikings in a volleyball match on Tuesday, October 10.
The Lady Tigers won the match 25-12, 26-24, 26-24.
In the first set of the night, the Lady Tigers came out strong and kept their intensity up which led to a win. The second set was a little tougher for the Tigers but they came out strong in the end and won. In the last set, the Lady Tigers dug themselves in a bit of a hole but came out victorious in the end.
Senior Andrea Schmit led the team with nine kills. Not far behind her was senior Caitlin Kumm with eight. Junior Makenzie Johnson had 6 kills. Sophomore Kennedy Johnson and senior Emily Bolz had four kills each.
Andrea Schmit and Makenzie Johnson had two solo blocks each.
Caitlin Kumm (Sr.) had four ace serves. Emily Bolz (Sr.), Shelby Stelling (Sr.), Andrea Schmit (Sr.), and Makenzie Johnson (Jr.) all had one ace each.
Junior Mariah Stech had the most digs of the night with nine in total. Coming in close behind her was Senior Caitlin Kumm with eight. Junior Haven Schultze had six digs.
"This was a win the girls really needed and it was nice to win three in a row," stated Coach Johnson.
The updated record for the Lady Tigers is 6-10. On October 12 the Lady Tigers will travel to Pierce to compete in the Pierce County Tournament at 5:30 p.m.
