MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R

Workshop

11/13/17

 

The Osmond Board of Education met at­ 6:30 PM,  Monday, November 13, 2017 in the multi-purpose room.  The President announced that a current copy of the open meetings act was posted in the room.

 

It was moved by Koehler, seconded by Krohn, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the November 8, 2017 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session.  All members present having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session.

For:  6                    Against:  0

 

The evaluation of the Superintendent was discussed, and the workshop was adjourned at 7:55 PM.

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R

Regular Meeting

11/13/17

                                                                                                                                          

The Osmond Board of Education met at­ 8:02 PM,  Monday, November 13, 2017 in the multi-purpose room.  A motion to opened the meeting was made and seconded at the preceding Board Workshop.

 

It was moved by Brummels, seconded by von Rentzell,  to adopt the consent agenda as presented.

For:   6                   Against:  0

 

The Counselor/CTE coordinator's report was read by Superintendent Hamm and included information regarding:  1) assessments;  2) career technical education; and,  3) student learning teams. 

 

Principal Polt reported on; 1) the honors breakfast; 2) multiple safety drills that were conducted;  3) staff training;  4) conference quiz bowl; and, 5) upcoming events and Thanksgiving break.

 

Superintendent Hamm reminded the Board about the NASB state conference on November 15-17 and reported on 1) professional development requirements for teachers;  2) crumb rubber for the playground and the installation of the tire swing;  3) unified bowling;  4) upcoming professional development;  5) ACLU and NSAA comments on bullying;  5) positive comments regarding  our athletes and coaches after the football playoff game;  6) BC/BS insurance rates for next year; and,  7) grant and other funding requests and receipts.

 

The Board received than you notes from the Pfanstiel family and the Cross Country members who attended the State Cross Country meet.

 

Old Business:   There was no old business.

BOE minutes Nov. 13, 2017 minutes continued

 

New Business:    It was moved by  von Rentzell , seconded by Koehler,  to approve the 2016-2017 audit as presented.

For:   6                   Against: 0

 

Superintendent Hamm's evaluation was discussed.

 

The minutes of the meeting were read.

 

It was moved by Reikofski,  seconded by Moes to enter into executive session at 9:13 PM to discuss collective bargaining strategies.

 

It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Brummels, to come out of executive session at 10:30 PM and the meeting was adjourned at 10:31 PM.
