MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R

Board Workshop

03/12/2018

 

The Osmond Board of Education met at 4:32 PM Monday, March 12, 2018, in the Multi-Purpose room.

 

It was moved by Moes, seconded by von Rentzell, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by posted notice and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meeting law was posted in the building.                                                                    For:  6      Against:  0

 

A brief recess was taken at 6:55 PM, to hold the Regular March Board meeting.

 

 

 

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R

Regular Meeting

03/12/2018

 

The Osmond Board of Education reconvened at 7:05 PM Monday, March 12, 2018, in the Multi-Purpose Room.  This meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the March 7, 2018 issue of the Osmond Republican.

 

It was moved by Koehler, seconded by Krohn, to approve the consent agenda.    For:  6     Against:  0

 

Principal Polt reported on; 1) the end of third quarter and report cards; 2) Honor Breakfast; 3) Easter break; 4) the 2018-2019 school calendar; 5) Kindergarten roundup; 6) graduation; 7) speech districts; 8) the first track and golf meets; 9) Class D all-state band; 10) NECC Jazz Festival; and, 12) future intruder drills. 

 

K-12 Counselor/C.T.E. Coordinator Brummels reported on Assessment, Career Technical Education and Student Learning Teams.

 

Principal Polt read Superintendent Hamm's report on; 1) play production discussions with Wausa; 2) the upcoming School Improvement External Visit; and, 3) incoming option students.

 

The Board reported that they are still examining options for the purchase of a tractor and/or loader.  The Board congratulated the basketball teams for a successful year and the FFA group for a job well done thus far.

 

Old Business:              None

 

New Business:            It was moved by Brummels, seconded by Reikofski to table the Career and Technical Education program proposal until next month.                                             For:  6    Against:  0

 

It was moved by Moes, seconded by von Rentzell, to approve the purchase of carpet, cove base, and adhesives to complete the carpeting project originally begun in 2012.                    For:  6    Against:  0

 

It was moved by Koehler, seconded by Brummels to approve the 2018-2019 school calendar.                                                                                                                                          For:  6    Against:  0                        

 

The minutes of the regular meeting were read.

 

President Reikofski adjourned the regular meeting at 7:45 PM.

 

The Board workshop resumed at 7:50 PM.

 

The Board workshop was adjourned at 8:48 PM.
