Tiger boys defeat Bloomfield, Clearwater-Orchard
Tigers Remain Undefeated, Take Down the Bees and the Cyclones
The road led to Bloomfield on Tuesday for the Tigers, battling the Bees for another conference
victory. Osmond came out with great intensity on the defensive end, holding the Bees to just 6 points in
both the 1 st and 2 nd . Great team defense has consistently led to fast break points for the Tigers this
season, and tonight was no different. Offense was easy for Osmond in the first half, putting up an
efficient 36 points. Merrix Denn had 18 of his 22 points in the 1 st half and helped get things rolling for
Osmond.
The Tigers slowed down a little bit during the 3 rd quarter, with the luxury of a big halftime lead
allowing our team to work through a few offensive sets and motions during the 3 rd quarter. “It’s great
that our guys were able to get steals and easy layups throughout the game, but in order to prepare for
winning in big games later this season we used that quarter to improve our half court offense,”
summarized Todd Schulze. Osmond was still able to outscore Bloomfield by 6 in the 2 nd half and cruise to
a 30 point road win.
Justus Maertins had a big game on the boards, grabbing 9 rebounds and coming up just short of
a double-double to pair with his 12 points. Graysen contributed a bulk of the Tiger’s 61 points, scoring 9
of his own and setting up his teammates with 7 assists in the game. Nick Reikofski supplied a physical
presence for Osmond, battling for a game-high 11 rebounds. Aaron Chishiba played great defense on
Bloomfield’s Braden Eisenhauer and added 5 points and 5 assists to the Osmond offensive effort.

The Cyclones of Clearwater/Orchard came to Osmond on Saturday, a day later than originally
scheduled due to poor winter weather conditions. The Tigers 14 th game got off to a positive start but
they had a difficult time containing C/O senior Blake Hoke. The Cyclone scored 15 of his game-high 21
points in the first half and kept the lead within 10 points heading into the game. Keaton Timmerman
answered back with 14 first-half points and Merrix Denn put up 12 in the first sixteen minutes to lead
the Tiger scoring effort. Nick Reikofski scored 2 points in a very unconventional way as a bounce pass
from Timmerman was tipped by Reikofksi after the ball hit the floor and was headed up, it continued to
travel up, bounce of the backboard and fall into the hoop for a basket worth cheers and a few laughs out
of the crowd. Osmond put away the Cyclones in the 3 rd quarter, stepping up their team defense and
forcing more difficult shots for Hoke. The Tigers outscored their opponent in the 3 rd by 9 points and
grabbed their 14 th victory of the season.
Merrix Denn led Osmond in scoring with 20 points and added 4 assists and 4 steals. Keaton
Timmerman had his first monster game of the season, scoring 18 points and fighting his way for 16
rebounds. Graysen Schultze continues to supply offense, scoring 9 points and earning 6 assists.
The Tigers are exactly where they want to be as they prepare for their final week before Lewis
and Conference Tournament action begins.
