Last Regular Season Game
Tigers win last regular-season game
BY MADELINE HUWALDT
On October 24 the Lady Tigers (11-12) traveled to Riverside High School to play their last regular-season game of 2019. The Tigers played in an intense game where they ended up on top in four sets 25-17, 7-25, 25-21, 27-25.
The Tigers were able to come out strong and ready to play in the first set. The intensity was high and the girls were able to play together as a team. There were few balls that hit the ground as the Tigers were determined not to lose any points.
The second set was a little rougher for the Tigers as they transitioned to the other side of the court. Right away it was prevalent that Riverside was not about to give up and let Osmond walk away with the win easily.
The second set was by far the toughest set for the Tigers but the little downfall didn’t affect the third and fourth sets as the Tigers fought their way to victory.
The Seniors, Madeline Huwaldt and Kennedy Johnson, started their official last regular-season game.
Other starters were junior Elisa Herrera, and sophomores Grace Gansebom, Kiera Moes, Macy Aschoff, and Bailey Schmit.
Sophomore Lillie Gansebom and Freshman Cali GItz both gained valuable varsity experience.
Aschoff led the Tigers in kills with twelve followed by Johnson with nine, Moes with four, G.Gansebom with two, and Huwaldt, Schmit, and Herrera each had one.
G.Gansebom had sixteen set assists while Schmit had eight, and Johnson and Herrera each had one.
G.Gansebom and Johnson each had five ace serves while Huwaldt, Moes, and Schmit each had one.
G.Gansebom led the Tigers in digs with fourteen followed by Herrera with ten, Schmit with nine, Johnson with seven, Aschoff with six, and Huwaldt with one.
The Tigers (12-12) will travel to Battle Creek on October 28 to play Plainview for subdistricts at 5 pm.
