BOARD WORKSHOP; JOINT MEETING WITH WAUSA; REGULAR MEETING

The Osmond Board of Education met at 6:10 pm on Monday, July 12, 2021, in the FCS room.
It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Krohn, that it was determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the July 7, 2021 edition of the Osmond Republican and was convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared, passed, and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act posted in the building. For: 4 Against: 0
Member Reikofski arrived at 6:11 pm and member Stanosheck arrived at 7:55 pm.

The Osmond Board of Education Board Workshop Commenced at 6:12 pm.
The Board met to further discuss their upcoming joint meeting with the Wausa School Board regarding the co-oping of extra- and co-curricular activities.
The Board Workshop was adjourned at 6:52 pm.

The Osmond Board of Education Joint Meeting with Wausa School Board commenced at 7:08 pm.
The Boards met to discuss opportunities for the co-oping of extra- and co-curricular activities between the schools.
The Joint Meeting was adjourned at 8:29 pm.

REGULAR MEETING
07/12/2021
The Osmond Board of Education Regular Meeting commenced at 8:42 pm.
Patron Input: President Moes recognized Cleo Pfanstiel, Melanie Gutz, Dan Heiman & Jennifer Gansebom as guests in attendance.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Gansebom, to approve the consent agenda as presented. For: 6 Against: 0
Principal Polt submitted an oral report on: 1) teacher in-service days; 2) first day of school for students; 3) drop/add session for secondary students; 4) elementary open house and chromebook check out; 5) third grade open house; 6) a cage for the video projector in the gym; 7) bid from Electronic Systems Co. for a new bell system; and 8) the upcoming volleyball jamboree game.
Superintendent Hamm reported on: 1) the yellow building update; 2) sale of miscellaneous items not being used, noting the donations made to St. Mary’s school and the city library of old Smart Boards; 3) delivery of the new bus; 4) new bus driver; 5) accreditation for the 21/22 school year; 6) mandatory policy hearings; 7) Depreciation Fund C.D. ; and 8) distance education incentive units;
Board Comments: 1) President Moes commented about the positive joint meeting they had with the Wausa school board.
Old Business: None.
New Business: It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Stanosheck, to approve the District’s Emergency Operation Plan (EOP). For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Moes, seconded by Gansebom, to revise board policies 2005; 3003; 3003.1; 3004.1; 3042; 3043; 5063 and 6036 as required by statute. For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Krohn, to approve the District’s existing Safe Return to Learn Plan.
For: 6 Against: 0
The District’s America Rescue Plan’s (ARP) ESSER III Plan was discussed. Patrons in attendance were asked if they had any questions on said plan. Future public comment will be sought for guidance on how to spend the funds.
The Nebraska Health Standards process was also discussed.
The minutes of the meeting were read.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 pm.
