POLICY HEARINGS
8/9/2021
The Osmond Board of Education met at 7:05 pm on Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Multi-purpose room.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Stanosheck, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the August 4, 2021 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings law was posted in the building. For: 5 Against: 0
The hearing for Policy 5018 – Parent and Guardian Involvement in Education Practices was opened at 7:07 pm and adjourned at 7:07 pm.
The hearing for Policy 5045 – Student Fees was opened at 7:08 pm and adjourned at 7:09 pm.
The hearing for Policy 5054 – Student Bullying was opened at 7:09 pm and adjourned at 7:10 pm.
The hearing for Policy 5057 – District Title I Parent and Family Engagement was opened at 7:10 pm and adjourned at 7:10 pm.

REGULAR MEETING
8/9/2021
The Osmond Board of Education regular meeting commenced at 7:11 pm.
Patron Input: President Moes recognized guests in attendance to include Cleo Pfanstiel, Regina Lorenz, Tammy King, Jenny & Jared Wingert and Jennifer Gansebom; with guests inquiring about Covid-19 facts and protocol; Nebraska Health Standards; and options for sports co-oping.
President Moes excused absent board member von Rentzell.
It was moved by Stanosheck, seconded by Krohn, to adopt the consent agenda as presented. For: 5 Against: 0
Principal Polt reported on 1) teacher in-service days; 2) first days of school; 3) elementary open house; 4) chromebook checkout; 5) upcoming activities to include the Jamboree volleyball game, first football game, homecoming and the first cross country meet; 6) marching band competitions; 7) no school for Labor Day; 8) mentioned updates on the possible new bell system and the gym projector and protector cage; 9) senior banners; 10) school and fall sports pictures; and 11) morning homerooms.
Superintendent Hamm reported on 1) a facility update; 2) budget workshop; 3) required trainings for staff; 4) pre-service agenda; 5) general fund transfer to athletics; 6) insurance premium and insurance updates; 7) ESSER funds; 8) school start letter; 9) thanked those staff members who worked full or part-time over the summer; 10) addressed the non-binary bathroom; 11) Nebraska proposed health standards; and 12) a letter from the Wausa board of education.
Board Comments: 1) President Moes spoke about the negotiations committee meeting deadline; and 2) the Sept 1st NASB training session in Norfolk.

New Business:
It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Reifokski, to approve a transfer of $110,000.00 from the General Fund to the Depreciation Fund. For: 5 Against: 0
The minutes of the meeting were read.
The meeting was adjourned the meeting at 9:42 pm.
