BUDGET HEARING
09/13/2021
The Osmond Board of Education Budget Hearing commented at 7:01 pm, Monday, September 13, 2021, in the multi-purpose room.
It was moved by Krohn, seconded by Reikofski, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the September 8, 2021 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. Members present and having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act was posted in the building. For: 6 Against: 0
Superintendent Hamm shared information and visited with the board regarding the budget and the rationale behind the different budgeted expenditures.
The Budget hearing was adjourned at 7:54 pm.

TAX RESOLUTION HEARING

The Osmond Board of Education Tax Resolution Hearing commenced at 7:55 pm, Monday, September 13, 2021 in the multi-purpose room.
Superintendent Hamm reviewed information regarding the proposed property tax rate with the Board.
The Tax Resolution Hearing was adjourned at 7:56 pm.

REGULAR MEETING
9/13/2021
The Osmond Board of Education Regular Meeting commenced at 7:57 pm, Monday, September 13, 2021, in the multi-purpose room.
Patron Input: None
It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Stanosheck, to approve the consent agenda as presented. For: 6 Against: 0
Principal Polt reported on: 1) Homecoming activities including spirit week and the pep rally; 2) the safety/crisis team presenting an in-service for staff on Oct. 15th; 3) OCS having a Harvest of Harmony queen candidate this year; 4) the upcoming Parent Teacher conferences scheduled for Oct. 18th; 5) end of the first quarter and report cards; 6) an update on a new monitor in the office and the protective cage for the projector in the gym; 7) the possible new bell system and electronic clocks; 8) mentioned that football will remain 8-man for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, with options being considered beyond the 2-year timeframe; and 9) spoke about looking at a basketball coop for next school year.
Superintendent Hamm reported on: 1) ESSER III funds; 2) possible girls wrestling cooping program; 3) recognized and thanked Rod Brummels for assisting with the high school football program this year and donating his stipend back to the football program; 4) spoke about the State School Board Convention; 5) the Nebraska B.O.E. indefinitely postponing the updates to the Nebraska health standards and Rule 10; 6) updates on the school website; and 7) disposal of the 2006 school bus.
BOARD COMMENTS: 1) President Moes spoke about board policy reviews; and thanked Rod Brummels for donating his stipend back to the football program; 2) Reikofski spoke about attending the NASB meeting and reported on various topics covered some of which included consolidation, Nebraska Health Standards, mask mandates, curriculum requirements; and mentioned the Norfolk area NASB meeting went well.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS:
It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Stanosheck, to adopt the 2021-2022 budget for Osmond Community Schools showing a Total Budget of Disbursements and Transfers for all funds in the amount of $6,627,403.
For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Krohn, to adopt the 2021-2022 tax request resolution.
For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Stanosheck, seconded by Reikofski, to approve the Board of Education guidelines for public comment.
For: 6 Against: 0
The minutes of the meeting were read.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:48 pm.
