Osmond Lady Tigers
Osmond Lady Tigers
Have Tough Week of Basketball
State Rated Wynot Lady Blue Devils came to town and physically out played the Lady Tigers.
Their Senior Experience and Height was just to much for our younger team. The score was 41-16 after three quarters of play but Wynots press and pressure defense didn't allow our young players coming off the bench a chance to score in the fourth quarter. Even though we lost this game, Coach Schmit and I, saw great improvement with all of the players. Our rebounding has been really good so far this season and it has improved in every game, as the season progress's. Not a lot of points for us in this one, but leading the way was Mary Kahny with 7 and Maddy Huwaldt with 5. Top rebounders were Macy Aschoff with 8 followed by Mary and Maddy with 5 boards each. Final score 60-16 and dropping our record to 1-3.

Other members of the team and doing a good job include: Leia Buchanan, Elisa Herrera, Lexi Beacom, Reese Johns, and Riley Wagner.
Lady Spartans from Boyd Co.
Defeat Lady Tigers 44-11
Boyd Co. proved to be to much for us to handle this early in the season. Their height and experience proved to be very good, against our young team. Top scorers for Osmond were Kiera Moes with 5 Hayle Krienert and Maddy Huwaldt with 3 each. Grace Gansebom and Macy Aschoff had 2 steals each. Kiera and Grace led in the rebound department with 8 and 5 boards respectfully. Playing these really good teams at the beginning of the season should help us down the road.
Junior Varsity Action Against Boyd County for Two Quarters
Boyd Co. wins this one 20-9. Leading The Young Lady Tigers with 5 points was Lexi Beacom, followed by Bailey Schimt with 4 points. Leading the team in rebounding was Riley Wagner with 3 boards. Elisa Herrera and Cali Gutz each finished with 3 steals. It's hard to get a huge amount of statistics in a game with just 2 quarters being played. These young ladies are all very hard workers.

The JV is victorious on the road as they get a win to even their record at 2-2. The Young Lady Tigers battled hard and smart to secure the win. Bailey Schimt had the hot hand in shooting as she scored 5 points from the field. Once again this was a very good team effort. Lots of improvement was seen through-out the game.

This was a close game through-out, with the Lady Tigers winning 39-29. With the win Osmonds Varsity has a 2-3 record going into a conference game against Creighton at home. Leading the way in steals against Plainview for Osmond were Grace and Maddy with 4 each as Kiera followed closely with 3. Pulling down the rebounds were Macy with 7 and Kiera with 6. Three other players grabbed 4 boards each. They were Mary, Grace, and Maddy. Dishing out team high assists were Macy and Grace with 3 and 2. Grace also had several deflections in the game. Kiera and Macy led all scorers from both teams with 13 and 12 points. There are a lot of things other team members do that aren't reported. Coach Schmit and I are very happy with how well the girls keep improving and work together as a team. They are a fun group to work with.
