On October 9th, four high school band members traveled to Northeast Community College for the 5th annual Hawkfest Honor Band and Choir Festival. Mathew Alderson (tenor saxophone), Erin Wagner (flute), Jack Berg (trombone), and Keely Gubbels (saxophone) qualified. Ein Wagner said she looked forward to the event in the past years and was excited to do it again. Prior to going, Jack said he was looking forward to the song Hello, Goodbye. He has never played a song where the choir sang as the band played. They have attended to showcase their talents and skills.
They had spent the day rehearsing and performed a concert for the public. They played the songs Benediction, Chimney Rock, Homestretch, and The Mysterious Stranger as a whole band. At the concert’s end, they played the song Hello, Goodbye as a mass choir and band.
