Industrial Tech Curriculum
Classes are taught by Mr. Ortmeier
Classes Include:
Communication Systems - This course includes all phases of mechanical drafting, CAD, silk-screen printing, audio-visual production and other areas of graphic communication. Open to grades 9-12.
Construction Systems - Residential construction will be studied. Framing, roofing and exterior wall covering will be covered. Remodeling, home improvements, and reading and creating plans will also be studied. Open to grades11-12.
Advanced CAD and CAD Design- Students will be instructed in advanced computer aided drafting and design techniques, architectural drafting including floor plans and elevations along with advanced mechanical drawing. AutoCAD, Inventor, and Architectural Desktop programs will be used. Open to grades 11-12.
Manufacturing Systems - Students will learn about the field of woodworking, metal working, welding and plastics. The manufacturing industry is studied from the beginning to the present. Open to grades 11-12.
Power Technology - A one-semester course where students will learn about small gas engine systems, theory of operation, over haul, and troubleshooting. Open to grades 9-12.
Transportation Systems - A one-semester course where students will study power, energy, and transportation. Energy and its sources along with simple machines, solar power, robotics, land, water, air and space transportation will be covered. Open to grades 9-12.
