Runners Battle the Heat in Hartington on Thursday

The Osmond Cross Country team fought the heat in the first meet of the 2023 school year! They competed at the Hartington Newcastle Invite on August 24, 2023. Junior High member Trenton Wiseley placed 11th out of 30 competitors. Keli Aschoff and Deanna Kumm, who make up the HS girls XC team, placed 29th and 47th, respectively. As for the HS boys XC team, Matthew Alderson placed 10th and Dominic True placed 13th. Both boys took home a medal. Matthew was particularly proud of himself and said, “We all pushed ourselves, and I got a course PR!” Mason True placed 24th, Jack Berg placed 41st, James Doyle placed 52nd, and Donovan Heiman placed 58th.
Coach Ortmeier said, “I thought the team ran well, considering the heat.” He and the team look forward to competing in future meets and improving their performances.
