REGULAR MEETING
05/10/2021
The Osmond Board of Education met at 7:58 pm on Monday, May 10, 2021, in the multi-purpose room. The President announced and informed the public that a copy of the open meetings act was posted in the building.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Gansebom, that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the May 5, 2021 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared, passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. For: 6 Against: 0

It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Krohn, to approve the consent agenda as presented. For: 6 Against: 0
Principal Polt reported on; 1) the last day for students; 2) staff check-out; 3) final grades and report cards; 4) K-6 elementary spring concert; 5) K-6 elementary field day 6) district and state track; 7) district and state golf; 8) announced the new head football coach would be Wyatt Schuettler; 9) provided updates on the new projector and screen in the gym; and 10) protocol for senior banners.
Superintendent Hamm reported on; 1) personnel updates; 2) community clean-up day; 3) area school’s expenditures for Class D in the Lewis & Clark Conference; 4) ELC graduation; and 5) the bus barn addition project.
Board Comments: 1) Reikofski reported on the recent NASB meeting she attended; 2) President Moes spoke about the whole board meeting with Wausa school’s board as a group to discuss co-oping various extra cirricular activites; 3) the board visited about how to best inform the public of the results of the forthcoming co-op meeting; 4) spoke about purchasing a new SPED car in the future; and 5) Gansebom discussed attending the city council meeting where several members discussed various school topics with the council.
It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Reikofski, to approve accept the bid from Aschoff Construction for $614,700.00 to renovate the yellow building. For: 5 Against: 1 (member Krohn voted against).
New Business: It was moved by Moes, seconded by Gansebom, to approve the purchase of a new English language arts curriculum for grades 7-12 from McGraw Hill for the total cost of $12,377.33. For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Moes, seconded by Krohn, to extend Mrs. Martin’s contract as well-being counselor from two days per week to three. For: 6 Against: 0
The minutes of the meeting were read.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 pm.
