SPECIAL JOINT MEETING (with Wausa Public Schools)

October 26, 2023

The subjects to be discussed or considered, or upon which any formal action may be taken, are as follows:

1. Opening the Meeting
   1. Call to Order: 
      1. Osmond: This special meeting of the Osmond Community School District Board of Education is called to order on October 26 at (time) in the gymnasium, 202 W. Prairie St, Osmond, Nebraska.
      2. Wausa: I would like to welcome everyone to a special meeting for the purpose of discussing and potentially approving a cooperative agreement sponsorship with Osmond Community Schools for the board of education, Wausa Public Schools. All meetings are held in compliance set for by LB 898, Nebraska Public Meetings Law. A copy of the law is available for your inspection at all meetings. It is also the intent of the Wausa Board of Education that all meetings requiring a quorum are duly noted and publicized in a timely manner prior to the meeting date. If at any time the hearing becomes difficult, please let the board president know immediately.
   2. District Purpose Statement:
      1. Osmond: “To provide all students a quality education, with its focus on academics and character, empowering them to be productive citizens of a dynamic, global society.”
      2. Wausa: “We believe that all the Youth of this community should be given an equal opportunity for a general education that will help them to become good citizens for democratic living. We believe our school should provide an educational environment that will assist all students to fulfill their needs, interests, and abilities so that they may develop to their maximum capabilities. We believe that it is as important to learn to live a full and complete life as it is to learn to be self-sufficient. Therefore, the total development of each individual to his/her highest potential is the primary concern of the Wausa School system.”
   3. Nebraska Open Meetings Law: the meeting is being held in compliance with the Nebraska Open Meetings Act and it is posted in the room.
   4. Publication of meeting:
      1. Osmond: notice was provided according to policy and verify publication in the 10/18/2023 issue of the Osmond Republican. 
      2. Wausa: Notice was provided according to policy and verified publication in the 10/18/2023 issue of the Wausa Gazette.

2. Approval of Agenda (each board)

3. Presentation of committee suggestions for co-op / partnership between Osmond Community Schools and Wausa Public Schools.  Board discussions, edits, modifications.

4. Action Items (each board separately makes motion to accept)
   1. Discuss, consider, and take all necessary action on the coop/partnership between Wausa Public Schools and Osmond Community Schools beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
