MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R
REGULAR MEETING
9/8/2025
The Osmond Board of Education met at 7:03 pm, Monday, September 8, 2025, in the multi-purpose room at Osmond Community Schools, located at 202 W. Prairie St., Osmond, NE.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Koehler, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the September 3, 2025 issue of the Osmond Republican, according to policy 2008 and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared, passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act was posted in the room.

Board roll call was taken, with all members being present.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Patron Input: No patrons were in attendance. President Moes recognized Regina Lorenz from the Osmond Republican as the news reporter in attendance.
It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Reikofski, to approve the consent agenda, reviewed and/or revised board policies 5046, 5048, 5050, 5053 through 5057, 5059, 5062 and 5064, the financial reports and September claims as presented.

K-6 Principal Parsons reported on: 1) Reading Benchmark and Placement Tests; 2) PBIS tickets; 3) Acadience Results; 4) plans for supporting core ELA; 5) UFLI training; 6) Instructional materials – Rule 10; 7) Soybean Board presentation; 8) Security Bank Tiger Branch opening; and 9) upcoming meetings and events.
7-12 Principal Polt reported on: 1) MAPS testing for grades 7-10; 2) early dismissal for teacher in-service on Sept. 11th; 3) Norfolk Area College Fair at NECC on Sept. 18th for Juniors and Seniors; 4) Homecoming and Spirit week beginning Sept. 22nd; 5) completion of tornado, fire and bus evacuation drills; 6) Parent-Teacher conferences scheduled for Oct. 7th from 3-8 pm, with school being dismissed at 2:06 pm; 7) end of the first quarter scheduled for Oct. 10th with report cards being mailed the following week; 8) senior banners; 9) Kim Foundation presentation for suicide awareness for high school students; 10) cell phone restrictions going well, with positive outcomes; 11) thanked Ms. Parsons for her hard work in the elementary; and 12) mentioned the split the pot fundraiser at the Osmond-Randolph volleyball game for Kaylen Tunink.
Superintendent Bremer reported on: 1) Board policies; 2) Plainview-Osmond Co-ops, with a joint board meeting scheduled for September 17 @ 6:30 pm to discuss high school football and basketball beginning with the 26/27 school year, with the vote to take place in October; 3) budget presentation, postcard meeting and budget hearing for 25/26; 4) summer office remodel completion; 5) continued research for 10-passenger transit vans, two of which have now been ordered; 5) new para hires; 6) NASB State Education Conference in Omaha, Nov. 19-21; 7) upcoming Rule 10 safety visit; 8) Wayne State College education fair; 9) board goals; and 10) Superintendent goals.
Board Member / Committee Reports: 1) President Moes and members Reikofski and Gansebom commented on the recent sharing committee meeting with Plainview Public School, noting upcoming votes on high school football and basketball co-ops, with a joint board and patron meeting to be held on Wed, Sept. 17 at 6:30 pm at Plainview school.
Action Items: None.
