Regular Meeting
04/11/22
The Osmond Board of Education met at 7:02 pm, Monday, April 11, 2022, in the multi-purpose room. The President announced and informed the public that a current copy of the open meetings act was posted in the building.
It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Krohn, that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the April 6, 2022 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted, and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. For: 6 Against: 0
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Patron Input: None.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Stanosheck, to approve the consent agenda as presented.
Principal Polt reported on; 1) seniors honor breakfast; 2) Easter break; 3) district music contest; 3) the 21/22 awards convocation; 4) kindergarten round-up; 5) conference track meet; 6) spring music concerts; 7) senior’s last day of school; 8) graduation; and 9) made a recommendation to the board to move forward with the partial sports co-op with Randolph Public Schools for the 22/23 school year to include varsity girls and boys basketball, junior high football and junior high girls and boys basketball.
Superintendent Hamm reported on; 1) teacher contracts for the 22/23 school year; 2) personnel updates; 3) shared that Plainview schools has inquired about help with their instrumental music program for the 22/23 school year; 4) discussed sponsor compensation for the speech and play production programs for next year; 5) an external school visitation scheduled for next Fall; 6) teacher negotiations for 22/23; 7) a supply chain assistance grant received for the school food program; 8) picking a natural gas supplier before the renewal period in the Fall; and 9) presented a thank-you note to the board from the post prom committee.
Board Comments: 1) President Moes and the board congratulated Kenzie von Rentzell on her state speech championship, also offering congratulations to her for being selected for the ‘Best of the Best” program; 2) the board also congratulated the entire speech team for their third-place finish at state competition.
Old Business: None.
New Business: It was moved by Gansebom, seconded by Stanosheck, to approve teaching contracts with Bradley Wright, Dale Krause and Christy Koehler for the 2022-2023 school year. For: 6 Against: 0
It was moved by Stanosheck, seconded by von Rentzell, to approve a two-year cooperative agreement with Randolph Public Schools for jr. high football, jr. high girls basketball, jr. high boys basketball, high school girls basketball and high school boys basketball, beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. For: 5 Against: 1
It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Krohn, that following the RFQ process for selecting an Energy Savings Company (ESCO) as stated in the State Statute sections 66-1062 to 66-1066, the Osmond Board of Education intends to enter into a contract with Facility Advocates; with final details of the scope of work and costs to be presented later. For: 6 Against: 0
The minutes of the meeting were read.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by von Rentzell for the board to go into executive session at 7:54 pm.
It was moved by Krohn, seconded by Stanosheck for the board to come out of executive session at 8:06 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:07 pm.
