MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R
REGULAR MEETING
11/10/2025
The Osmond Board of Education met at 6:17 pm, Monday, November 10, 2025, in the multi-purpose room at Osmond Community Schools, located at 202 W. Prairie St., Osmond, NE.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Koehler, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the November 5, 2025 issue of the Osmond Republican, according to policy 2008 and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared, passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act was posted in the room.

Board roll call was taken, with all members being present.
A motion was made by Rice, seconded by Krohn, to approve the Agenda as presented.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Celebration of Excellence: Superintendent Bremer shared that OCS is a Blue Star School for financial literacy for the 3rd year in a row. The results were from the National W!se Financial Literacy Test taken by the class of 2026.
Patron Input: No patrons were in attendance. President Moes recognized Regina Lorenz from the Osmond Republican as the news reporter in attendance.
Discussion Item(s): Kyle Overturf from AMGL CPAs & Advisors presented on the 2024/2025 school district audit results, also answering questions by board members.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Gansebom, to approve the consent agenda, reviewed and/or revised board policies 6012-6018, 6021, 6026-6029, the financial reports and November claims as presented.

K-6 Principal Parsons reported on: 1) New before school morning offerings for 4-6th grade students; 2) the 6th grade field trip; 3) elementary Halloween parties; 5) the recent PBIS meeting and 6) upcoming events.
7-12 Principal Polt reported on: 1) conference vocal clinic and concert, noting that five students were selected to the conference honor choir and received medals; 2) junior and senior high quiz bowl; 3) representatives from JMC will be at school during the Nov. 12th in-service regarding their student information system; 4) the ASVAB test for juniors on Nov. 12th; 5) no school on Wed, Nov. 19th as OCS is hosting the FFA LDE, with that day being a contract day for teachers; 6) noted a senior student has been selected to sing in the NMEA All State Choir on Nov. 22nd and the OCS Choir has been invited to perform at the Westbrook Music Building on the UNL campus that day; 7) Thanksgiving break will begin on Nov. 25th with a 2:06 dismissal, with school resuming on Dec. 1st; 8) the dates for the K-6 and 7-12 Christmas concerts will be on Dec. 11th; 9) Christmas break will begin on Dec. 19th with a 2:06 dismissal, with school to resume for staff on Jan. 5th and students returning on Jan. 6th; 10) noted he will attend the State Principal’s Conference in Lincoln on Dec. 3 & 4; 11) provided junior high and senior high cooperative updates with Plainview; 12) the Osmond Wausa Tigers wrestling team will be classified in Class D for the 25/26 season; 13) the upcoming high school girls wrestling meeting; and 14) noted that all co-op football games will be played at Plainview Public School facilities.
Superintendent Bremer reported on: 1) Board policies; 2) the 24/25 final school audit; 3) cooperatives with Plainview Public School; 4) the Superintendent contract renewal; 5) teacher negotiations for the 26/27 and 27/28 school years; 6) additional band uniforms, noting that an anonymous community member will pay half of the cost for the additional uniforms needed; 7) the May 2027 Washington DC trip with Plainview Public School for current grades 7-9; 8) the Rule 10 Safety and Security annual review; 9) a possible new School Information System provided by JMC; 10) the NASB State Education Conference in Omaha will be held on Nov. 19-21; 11) reported on Superintendent working days through October; 12) board goals and 15) superintendent goals.
Board Member / Committee Reports: 1) Rice inquired about the landscaping around the new community sign, which is currently being addressed by the city and the school; 2) Gansebom noted a recent negotiations committee meeting with the teachers negotiations committee.
Action Items: It was moved by Rice, seconded by Koehler, to take all necessary action to approve the 2024/2025 school district audit.
