MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION #42R
Regular Meeting
12/12/22
The Osmond Board of Education met at 5:03 pm, Monday, December 12, 2022 in the multi-purpose room.
It was moved by von Rentzell, seconded by Stanosheck, that it is hereby determined that this meeting was preceded by publicized notice in the December 7, 2022 issue of the Osmond Republican and is hereby declared to be duly convened in open session. All members having voted in favor of the motion, the same was declared passed and adopted and the following proceedings were had and done at said meeting in open session. A copy of the open meetings act was posted in the building. For: 6 Against: 0
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Patron Input: None.
It was moved by Reikofski, seconded by Stanosheck, to adopt the consent agenda as presented. For: 6 Against: 0
Principal Polt reported on: 1) the end of the 1st semester & report cards; 2) Christmas break; 3) the NSAA practice moratorium; 4) holiday basketball tournaments; 5) the Safe2Help reporting system; 6) senior class caps, gowns and diplomas; 7) the Dec. 15th football parent meeting; and 8) the addition of four volleyball games to the 2023 schedule.
Superintendent Hamm submitted a written report on: 1) the insurance claim from the 2021 hailstorm and 2022 derecho; 2) the food service director position; and 3) a payroll insurance claim.
Board Comments: 1) The board discussed the school’s current live stream provider vs. the difference of another program, with no changes planned; 2) Gansebom reported on the possible project with the City of a new electronic sign for dual use, asking for input from board members on their thoughts and feedback; 3) the board visited about the negotiated agreement with teachers, discussing insurance costs, base pay and years of experience as possible discussion points going forward; 4) discussed the school’s main lawn mower, which will need attention soon via repairs and/or a possible trade; 5) Moes thanked the public, school staff and administration for their work in the superintendent search and hiring process.
Old Business: None.
New Business: It was moved by Stanosheck, seconded by von Rentzell, to approve the negotiated superintendent contract with Mr. Steven Bremer for years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. For: 6 Against: 0
The minutes of the meeting were read.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:16 pm.
