J.H. Boys First At Hartington Meet

The Osmond J.H. Boys track team competed at the Hartington Invite on Friday, May 4th.  The Tigers scored 102 points and were the team champions followed by Harington-Newcastle and Wausa.  The Tigers had individual champions with Keaton Wattier winning both hurdle races, the 800 m relay team of Bradee Gubbels, Darren Kelley, Hunter Beacom, and Robert Aschoff  and the 1600 m relay team of Bodie True, Bryan Solorzano, Ryan Schmit, and Kaden Polt also taking first place.

This was a good meet for all of the kids.  We had an entire team effort with 13 different athletes earning a first or second placed medal.  Keaton had a good day winning both hurdle events, the 1600 m relay team took 5 seconds off their time to finish first and the 800 m relay team took 4.5 seconds off their time to also finish first. Ryan Schmit had a good lean at the tape to finish 2nd in the 800 m run while Bryan Solorzano broke 13 seconds in the 100 m dash to finish in 3rd place.  Bodie True and Patrick Vinson placed in 4 events while Kaden Polt and Hunter Beacom  placed in 3 events.

This was our last meet of the year and I thought that all the kids did a wonderful job.   This year we had all 17 team members place in the top four at a major meet with 16 of the 17 members placing either first or second in at least one meet.

We had several individuals finish in 2nd place with Bryan Solorzano in the 100 m dash, Bodie True in the 200 m dash, Keaton Wattier in both hurdle events and Patrick Vinson in the Shot Put and Discus. J.H. Boys First At Creighton Relays

The Osmond J.H. Boys track team competed at the Creighton Relays Invite on Monday, April 30.  The Osmond boys scored 76 points to finish in first place. Creighton was the runner-up followed by Wausa and Neligh-Oakdale.

In this track meet all the running events are ran as relays.  In the field events, each team consists of 3 athletes, with all three distances being added together to get the total distance for the team. This is a fun meet and it takes a total team effort from all the kids to do well in each event.  I think this might be the first time that we have ever won this meet.  I know that we have finished in second place that last 3 or 4 years.
