Friedrich, True Lead Tigers at Hartington Meet
The Osmond track and field teams continued their strong season with several top finishes on Monday, April 20th, at the Hartington Wildcat Invitational, highlighted by a runner-up relay performance and standout efforts in the field events.
On the boys' side, Mason True led the Tigers with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 55.19 seconds. True also teamed with Trenton Wiseley, Easton Steinkraus, and Kaleb Gardner to claim second place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:04.06. Kaleb Gardner added a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 131 feet, 8 inches, while Easton Steinkraus placed fifth in the triple jump at 35-5.
The girls' squad produced several strong performances throughout the meet, including a second-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay. Evynn Kumm, Kaleigh Miller, Korrine Moes, and Kenley Friedrich combined for a time of 56.80.
Kenley Friedrich also earned runner-up honors in the high jump after clearing 4-10 and added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 28.98 seconds. Korrine Moes captured second place in the shot put with a mark of 31-83⁄4, while Clara Steinkraus turned in a strong day in the jumping events. Steinkraus placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 30-81⁄2 and added sixth in the long jump at 13-7.
In the middle-distance events, Evynn Kumm finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.54, and Siris Stanton took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:02.53.
The girls' 4x400-meter relay team of Evynn Kumm, Clara Steinkraus, Siris Stanton, and Sunny Geneski earned third place with a time of 4:59.95. The 4x800-meter relay team of Siris Stanton, Nevaeh Newton, Deanna Kumm, and Carriana Kumm also finished third in 13:02.85.
Deanna Kumm added a sixth-place finish in the 3200-meter run with a time of 19:16.32.
Overall, the Tigers continued to show balance across sprinting, relays, and field events as they enter the heart of the season.
