Tigers Capture Two Titles at Creighton Invitational
The Osmond Tigers turned in an impressive performance Tuesday, April 28, at the Creighton Invitational, highlighted by two first-place finishes on the boys' side and several strong showings from the girls' team.
Mason True led the Tigers boys team by capturing the 400-meter dash title with a winning time of 53.96 seconds. True later teamed with Trenton Wiseley, Easton Steinkraus, and Kaleb Gardner to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:57.76.
The Tigers also excelled in the jumping events. Easton Steinkraus earned runner-up honors in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 71⁄2 inches, while Trenton Wiseley placed fourth at 34-11. In the long jump, Kaleb Gardner took third place with a jump of 17-2, and Steinkraus added a fifth-place finish at 16-8.
Gardner also earned a sixth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 123 feet, 9 inches.
On the girls' side, Kenley Friedrich led the way with a second-place finish in the high jump after clearing 4-6. Friedrich also added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.03.
Evynn Kumm placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.75 and was part of the Tigers’ fifth-place 4x100-meter relay team alongside Kaleigh Miller, Korrine Moes, and Kenley Friedrich. The quartet finished in 56.14.
The girls' 4x400-meter relay team of Evynn Kumm, Clara Steinkraus, Adalyn Koehler, and Sunny Geneski placed fourth with a time of 5:02.22, while the 4x800-meter relay team of Siris Stanton, Nevaeh Newton, Deanna Kumm, and Carriana Kumm finished fifth in 13:12.03.
In the field events, Katarina Miller earned fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 30-93⁄4, and Clara Steinkraus placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 29-6. Ava Kumm rounded out the Tigers’ top performances with a sixth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:01.22.
Overall, the Tigers showcased depth across both the track and field events as they continued their strong late-season performances.
