True, Friedrich Represent Osmond at Nebraska State Meet
The Osmond Tigers Track Team wrapped up competition at the Nebraska State Track Meet on Saturday, May 23rd, with strong performances from Mason True and Kenley Friedrich against some of the state’s top athletes.
Mason True competed in the boys' 800-meter run and finished with a time of 2:07.41. Although he did not place, True came within 1 second of his personal best. He ran a strong race throughout and faced adversity around the 600-meter mark when he became boxed in by surrounding runners. True quickly adjusted, moved to the outside, and worked his way past competitors to finish strong.
In the girls' 300-meter hurdles, Kenley Friedrich recorded a time of 51.87. Friedrich entered the state meet with a season-best time of 50.42 and delivered a clean, competitive race against a talented field of 24 runners. While she did not place, Friedrich represented the Tigers well on the state stage with a solid effort to conclude her season.
Competing at the Nebraska State Track Meet marked an important accomplishment for both athletes, who earned the opportunity to test themselves against the best competitors from across the state. True, a junior, and Friedrich, only a freshman, plan to use this experience to guide them back to the state meet next season.
