Osmond Tigers Compete Strongly at Jim Winch/Winside Invite
The Osmond Tigers Track Team turned in several strong performances at the Jim Winch/Winside Invitational, highlighted by runner-up finishes, personal records, and multiple top-six medals.
Leading the Tigers boys team was Mason True, who earned second-place finishes in both the 400-meter dash and the 800-meter run. True posted a time of 54.10 seconds in the 400 and 2:09.69 in the 800.
Distance runner Trenton Wiseley added a fifth-place finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:26.07.
The Tigers’ 4x400 relay team of True, Wiseley, Easton Steinkraus, and Kaleb Gardner placed fifth overall in 4:01.29.
Gardner had a strong day in the field events, placing third in the discus with a throw of 134 feet, 3 inches, and fourth in the triple jump at 36 feet, 8 inches. Steinkraus also earned a medal in the triple jump, taking sixth place with a leap of 36 feet, 5.25 inches.
For the girls' team, Kenley Friedrich recorded a personal-best time of 28.44 seconds while placing fifth in the 200-meter dash. Friedrich also finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.76 and tied for fifth in the high jump after clearing 4 feet, 7 inches.
Evynn Kumm added another personal best for the Tigers, finishing sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.00.
The girls' 4x100 relay team of Evynn Kumm, Kaleigh Miller, Korrine Moes, and Friedrich placed sixth in 56.94 seconds.
Osmond’s throwers relay team of Adyson Poellot, Nevaeh Newton, Ava Kumm, and Addison Miller turned in one of the Tigers’ top finishes of the meet, taking second place in the 4x100 throwers relay with a time of 1:01.97.
The girls' 4x400 relay team of Adalyn Koehler, Clara Steinkraus, Sunny Geneski, and Evynn Kumm placed sixth in 4:53.09.
In the 4x800 relay, Siris Stanton, Newton, Deanna Kumm, and Carriana Kumm finished sixth in 12:58.57.
Korrine Moes also earned an individual medal in the shot put, placing fifth with a throw of 34 feet, 1.5 inches, while Steinkraus added a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 29 feet, 5 inches.
The Tigers continue to build momentum as the season heads toward postseason competition.
